Louisiana Attorney General Sues Roblox, Calls Platform ‘Perfect Place for Pedophiles’ Over Safety Failures

Louisiana’s Attorney General Liz Murrill has filed a lawsuit against the popular online gaming platform Roblox, accusing the company of failing to implement adequate safety measures to protect children from predators.

The lawsuit, filed in Louisiana’s 21st Judicial District Court, alleges that Roblox’s lack of a reliable age verification system allows users to easily create accounts with fake birthdays. This loophole enables adults to pose as children and interact with minors, while kids can bypass safety controls meant for users under 13.

According to the suit, Roblox’s design is reckless or intentional in allowing these vulnerabilities, which the Attorney General describes as making the platform “the perfect place for pedophiles.”

The legal action highlights growing concerns about online child safety and calls for stronger measures to protect young users on social gaming platforms like Roblox, which has tens of millions of users worldwide, many of whom are children.
