Political tensions within the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) appear to be escalating as Tej Pratap Yadav launched a sharp attack on his younger brother and party leader Tejashwi Yadav, calling him a “bachaa” (child) and mocking him with the term “jhunjhuna” (toy rattle).

In his fiery remarks, Tej Pratap hinted that he might campaign in Raghopur, the stronghold and assembly constituency represented by Tejashwi. The comment comes amid growing reports of internal rifts within the RJD ahead of the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections.

Tej Pratap’s remarks:
The elder Yadav, known for his outspoken nature, accused certain leaders of sidelining him and taking unilateral decisions within the party. He said he would not stay silent if his contribution and seniority continued to be ignored.

I made him what he is today. He was a child — a ‘bachaa’. I gave him the ‘jhunjhuna’ of politics,” Tej Pratap reportedly said, highlighting his role in mentoring his younger brother during the party’s early days after Lalu Prasad Yadav’s conviction.

Political impact:
The comment has triggered widespread reactions within the RJD and among political observers in Bihar, with many viewing it as a sign of widening cracks in the Yadav family’s political front. Analysts suggest that if Tej Pratap campaigns independently in Raghopur, it could unsettle RJD’s voter base and influence the upcoming polls.
