delhi air pollution Delhi’s air quality has dipped to the ‘severe’ category for the first time this season, prompting authorities to implement Stage 3 of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP). The Air Quality Index (AQI) crossed the 400 mark at several monitoring stations, triggering emergency pollution control measures.

Under GRAP-3, restrictions have been placed on construction activities, industrial operations, and the use of diesel generators. Officials have also advised residents to avoid outdoor activities and limit vehicle use to curb emissions.

Experts say the rise in pollution is mainly due to stubble burning, vehicle emissions, and weather stagnation. With winter setting in, the situation could worsen unless strong preventive steps are taken soon.
