Delhi pollution Delhi woke up to another day of thick smog as the Air Quality Index (AQI) breached the 400-mark at 15 monitoring stations, marking a shift into the ‘severe’ category. Major areas including Anand Vihar, RK Puram, Jahangirpuri, and Punjabi Bagh recorded the worst pollution levels.

The toxic air has prompted health warnings, with experts urging people to avoid morning walks, outdoor sports, and prolonged exposure. Schools and offices have also been advised to adopt hybrid or online operations if conditions persist.

Environmental scientists say stagnant weather conditions and ongoing crop residue burning in Punjab and Haryana continue to worsen the capital’s smog crisis. The government is closely monitoring the situation, with measures like water sprinkling, anti-smog guns, and vehicle checks being intensified.
