Health Emergency on Dhurandhar Set: Film Unit in Leh Hit by Widespread Food Poisoning

A routine dinner on the sets of the Dhurandhar shoot turned into a health crisis as over 100 people, including crew members and children, were struck by suspected food poisoning in Leh, sparking an emergency medical response.

The chilling wave of illness swept through the film unit late on Sunday, with affected staff rushed to SNM Hospital exhibiting severe abdominal distress and vomiting. In total, around 120 individuals required hospitalization; an emergency that forced doctors back into action and local police to handle the chaotic influx of patients.

Multiple agencies are now investigating the root cause—health inspectors collected food remnants, suspecting contamination in either cheese, chicken, or other meal components served to approximately 600 people on set.

Doctors at the hospital confirmed that most patients have since recovered and regained stability. “It was an intense night, but we controlled it quickly,” noted a senior physician—relief that the situation did not escalate further.

The setback has paused production of the high‑profile film featuring Ranveer Singh alongside actors like R. Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, and Sara Arjun. The timing couldn’t be worse, as the shoot was already progressing in a challenging, high‑altitude region where logistical hurdles are substantial.

Similarly, this disruption has raised alarm over health preparedness for large-scale productions in remote places. Industry insiders and authorities are now seeking tighter regulations to protect crew welfare in unpredictable environments.

As tests on food samples continue, the film is on standby until authorities and production teams can guarantee both safety and continuity.
