pm kisan samman As the 21st instalment of the PM KISAN scheme approaches, the central government has intensified verification efforts to maintain transparency and prevent duplication. Around 31 lakh beneficiary accounts are currently under scrutiny for possible ineligibility, including cases where both husband and wife have been drawing separate payments of ₹2,000 each, violating the one-family-one-benefit rule.
The Agriculture Ministry has instructed such beneficiaries to submit supporting documents before mid-October or risk suspension of benefits. The verification drive aims to ensure that only genuine farmers continue to receive funds through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
Reason behind the scrutiny
With the next instalment pending, the government wants to guarantee proper utilisation of funds, especially given the festive timing when farmers depend on this amount. Only after e-KYC completion, Aadhaar-bank linking, and land record verification will payments be processed.
Implication for beneficiaries
Farmers who haven’t completed these formalities may face delays or cancellation of the upcoming instalment. Some disaster-affected states have already received payments, while others await final verification. The national rollout is expected to follow once all records are cleared.
What to expect
While the final release date has not been officially confirmed, the nationwide transfer is likely to occur in late October, just before Diwali, provided the verification drive concludes on time.
