The Second Phase of the Summary Intensive Revision (SIR) in West Bengal has kicked off with a strong assurance from the state’s Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) — “No legitimate voter will be removed.”

After an all-party meeting, the CEO confirmed a joint agreement to uphold electoral integrity and prevent any voter list manipulation. Every political party reportedly pledged to cooperate fully with election officials to ensure clean and credible rolls before the 2025 elections.

The Election Commission reiterated that the voter verification process will be conducted with transparency, using field checks and digital validation tools to confirm accuracy.

Officials also appealed to citizens to verify their names on the official NVSP portal and report discrepancies immediately. The CEO stressed that the Election Commission’s goal is a free, fair, and inclusive electoral process that represents every eligible voter in West Bengal.
