The UK government has introduced a major immigration change allowing international students to switch directly from a Student visa to the Innovator Founder Visa without leaving the country. The new rule, set to take effect soon, aims to make the UK more attractive for entrepreneurial graduates who want to build businesses after completing their studies.

Previously, most students had to return to their home country to apply for the Innovator Founder visa, creating financial and logistical challenges. Under the updated policy, students who have completed their degree will be able to apply domestically, provided they secure endorsement for an innovative and scalable business idea.

Experts believe the reform will boost the UK’s start-up ecosystem by retaining high-potential talent and reducing unnecessary administrative barriers.
